The History Circle presents a programme of talks embracing a wide range of topics of historical interest.
Invited guest speakers, subject matter experts and academics give the Circle a unique insight into their chosen fields of research.
Topics are drawn from around the world and from any period of recorded history. In the past year subjects have included biographies from early Melbourne, the Crusades, recent Cambodia, and the lifestyle of Italian renaissance nobility discovered through private correspondence.

In the coming year, we have invited some speakers on Gallipoli, it being the 100th anniversary of the conflict. These speakers include Hugh Dolan speaking on ‘The Untold Story Behind the Gallipoli Landings’ and Kirsty Harris speaking on ‘ Australian Nurses on the Island of Lemnos’.

The Circle meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month, at 2.00 pm in the Nina Bagot Room. You can join us for lunch in the Dining Room beforehand, and usually with the invited speaker, at 12:00 pm for 12:30 pm. Everyone is welcome.
